Job Description
Applies detailed knowledge of a specific technology or science
gained through education or experience to write work packages and
provide directions for complex work evolutions. Collaborates with
subject matter experts to convey technical direction and
explanation of technology in a manner which permits independent
operation and maintenance. Exercises judgment and discretion in
ensuring proper environmental, safety and health requirements are
met. The successful candidate will work with the cognizant
engineering groups and system operators to maintain and upgrade
hardware and software used by the operators to monitor and control
the facilities systems. Specific duties include:
Implement control system software changes, updates and
modifications.
Perform peer review for project hardware and software
compatibility.
Maintain application revision documentation.
Maintain configuration control documents for system applications
and hardware.
Work with system engineers and operators to optimize control system
effectiveness and troubleshoot issues.
Perform shakedown of updated software versions.
All positions at the Kesselring Site includes participation in the
Site's Emergency Response Organization.
Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill
High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 14 years of
relevant experience; or Associate's degree from an accredited
college or university in a technical, engineering or science
related field and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; or
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a
technical, engineering or science related field and a minimum of 6
years of relevant experience.
Preferred Skills
Experience programing Programable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
Experience developing Operator Interfaces for Windows-based and
Magelis operating systems.

Pay Range
$82,400 - $128,800 annually

qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of
Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned
subsidiary of Fluor Corporation. Naval Nuclear Laboratory personnel
are FMP employees who work at four DOE facilities: Bettis Atomic
Power Laboratory, Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, Kenneth A.
Kesselring Site, and Naval Reactors Facility, and at the U.S.
Department of Defense-owned Nuclear Power Training Unit-Charleston.
FMP employees also have an established presence at numerous
shipyards and vendor locations. For nearly 70 years, the Naval
Nuclear Laboratory has developed advanced nuclear propulsion
technology, provided technical support, and trained world-class
nuclear operators to ensure the safe and reliable operation of our
nation's submarine and aircraft carrier Fleets. The Naval Nuclear
