Job Description:
Overview
The Quality Control Specialist will investigate short shipments,
returns and inventory discrepancies. - You will proactively monitor
processes related to quality to achieve the goal of delivering
orders complete correct and on-time. - This person will be highly
motivated towards all aspects of quality. - You will monitor
existing policies and develop new policies to achieve an excellence
in quality mentality throughout all aspects of workflow.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for performing daily audit and investigation of the
back-order report
- Responsible for the daily audit and investigation of BOL edit
report
- Verifies bring back report from daily outbound loads
- Investigates and assists with billing issues
- Verifies all returns from RMA's or rejected on truck
or
- Conducts stock checks
- Conducts frequent cycle counts on known inventory
issues
- Investigates why compliance issues happen and report
- Conducts daily audit of driver's compliance with picture
verification program and use the pictures to help verify
discrepancies with the loads and returned merchandise
- Works with Warehouse Plant Manager to achieve warehouse
goals
- Assists in Inventory control
- Investigates nonconformance quality issues and perform
corrective actions to ensure the issue is resolved
- Communicates with sales and or the customer when needed on
quality issues
- Reviews customer requirements to verify compliance can be
achieved
- Participates in training other colleagues to understand how
their activities affect inventory
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- 1-3 years of steel industry experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:
Good computer and document-processing ability
- Good diplomacy and people skills
- Detail-oriented
- Able to plan, prioritize and multi-task
- Self-motivated, able to work on projects alone
- Good time management skills
- Must have a sense of urgency.
