Associate will be responsible for understanding and performing
functions related to the lifecycle of specimens, including patient
consenting and sample collection, storage, usage and destruction.
He/she will work closely with fellow staff providing support on
data entry and sample reconciliation efforts to meet project
timelines. Additionally, this individual will support day-to-day
processes and work closely with Brooks Life Science's biorepository
technician for Eisai Biobank operations, which stores biological
specimens collected through clinical trials for exploratory
research.Essential Functions* Perform all functions related to
sample registration, processing, and shipment.* Perform sample
reconciliation and ensure all SOPs are properly followed.* Maintain
communications and respond to sample requests to ensure customer
needs are met.* Maintain and update biobank database and sample
inventory.* Investigate sample irregularities and report on Query
Requests.* Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures
(SOPs), project definitions, and other necessary forms and
documents related to biobank operations.* Support the biobank in
resolving issues to ensure continuous improvement, including
changes in procedures based on new policies and updates to
operations based on organizational needs.* Keep up to date in
recent developments in the biobanking field.* Complete other
related tasks as assigned by supervisor.RequirementsQualifications
/ Training & Education* Bachelor's degree in biology, or a relevant
field.* Basic understanding of Good Clinical Practices for clinical
trials* Organized and detailed oriented characteristicsKnowledge &
Experience* Minimum 1 year pharmaceutical industry experience
related to operational processes or systems in clinical trials is
desired* Strong track record of building successful relations with
supervisors, peers, suppliers, customers, partners and stakeholders
is essential* Experience working in a clinical setting, tissue or
other biological sample bank is a plus* Good communication skills
and ability to work well with multiple individuals.* Ability to
work on several projects simultaneously and to switch focus as
needed* Ability to keep accurate and organized recordsTechnical
Competencies* Knowledge of sample management and associated data
support, particularly for process tracking and sample history*
Track record of prioritizing multiple, complex, high priority tasks
and ensuring timely delivery to meet customer needs* Working
knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially with using
Microsoft ExcelOther * Work is performed in an office and
laboratory environment.* Must be able to travel 1 - 2 times per
month to vendor site in Central NJ.* Preferred location is our
office in Nutley, NJ (hybrid work arrangement) but remote-based may
