As our company accelerates its digital technology offerings, a critical organization for our continued future success is digital operations team. Our processes support the B2B and B2C experiences through content onboarding, and eProcurement delivery. We are looking for a hands-on Digital Operations Solutions Architect leader that can help us transform our delivery services through process automation, enhanced integrations, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.

**What Will You Do?**

+ Gain an understanding of the portfolio of available systems, technologies, services and standards within Thermo Fisher as well as new development efforts which are underway to improve them. Use this knowledge when evaluating business requirements in order to recommend scalable solutions that not only align with requirements but align with the technology strategy and roadmap of Thermo Fisher

+ Review and document business functional and nonfunctional requirements and propose scalable and extensible solution architectures that meet those requirements in the form of detailed specifications. Identify possible project challenges on constraints including risks, time, resources and scope

+ Lead and conduct technical assessments and evaluations of 3rd-party tools and products and provide recommendation of selection to business and IT stakeholders

+ Assess current state functions and make recommendations for future automation roadmap

+ Continually review and identify opportunities where technology solutions can drive customer experience and process improvements

+ Understand the application of automation, artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions for improving customer experiences, processes and data quality

+ Partner with our Digital Engineering and other IT teams to identify, prioritize and deliver solutions to support our roadmap

+ Conduct technical proofs of concept and participate in the design and development of software solutions that enable progress for development teams.

+ Help ensure delivery success by providing guidance, mentorship and technical expertise to development teams across multiple projects.


+ Solution architecture skills including application, infrastructure, and database

+ Ability to provide strategic technology direction and architecture vision (specifically as it relates to AI, Machine Learning and RPA)

+ Passionate about the application of technology to drive process efficiencies

+ Working knowledge on software architecture and design patterns including API and microservices

+ Working experience in high level systems planning, design, development, maintenance and troubleshooting (large and complex systems would be a plus)

+ Excellent communication skills; comfortable explaining advanced concepts to technical and non-technical audiences and senior leadership

+ Ability to negotiate, facilitate and influence

**How Will You Get Here?**

+ Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, software engineering or related field

+ 10+ years of progressive experience with programming and design of commercial software or enterprise systems

+ 5+ years of technical leadership

+ Proficient experience in managing complex problems, from identifying the potential impact on the business to the development of the strategy, execution and communication at all levels

+ Experience in creating solid connections and influencing in the adoption of best practices to generate value and results

+ Working knowledge of architectural styles and design patterns

+ Working knowledge of one or more of Linux, AWS, Java/J2EE, C#/.Net, HTML, JavaScript, Python, Django Web Framework

+ Strong hands-on experience with structured and unstructured data management with relational and document/object models (PostgreSQL would be a plus)

+ Excellent communication skills

+ Ability to influence decision making from top-down and bottom-up

+ Active participation in industry software design and architecture communities

+ Organizational and leadership skills
