EXTEND YOUR POTENTIAL IN A GLOBAL TEAM OF SPECIALISTS


In this position, you will join our global and highly professional team of specialists that provides detailed engineering and project management on numerous bridge design projects and will report to the VP, Operations for the East region. Your primary task in our team will be to manage a portfolio of projects with respect to the project-specific top and bottom-line targets, quality, and client/staff satisfaction. You will have joint responsibility with Corporate Management Team for achieving the market goals (top line) for the East Region. You will also assist the VP, Operations in developing business strategies and the necessary technical capacity and staff resources, as well as, manage project managers in the portfolio.

On a day-to-day basis you will:

Manage a portfolio of projects and clients, and coordinate staffing for all projects in own portfolio with relevant VPs and Section Leads Manage financial performance of the projects and portfolio resulting in maximizing distributed engineering in order to meet budget/time/quality goals Lead project teams and project managers within the portfolio along with generating additional work within the portfolio to the overall benefit for COWI NA, Business Line International, and the COWI Group Act as Key Account Manager for major customers and provide management support to other Key Account Managers (Key Major Project Customers) As part of the management team, participate in periodic strategy meetings and contribute to the development and achievement of the COWI Groups strategic objectives Ensure compliance with COWI Quality Management System, and perform other duties as assigned from time to time

To succeed in this position, we believe that you have strong leadership skills and a proven ability to manage teams along with strong organizational and time management skills. You will be part of a team located locally and remotely and require strong written and verbal communication skills to be effective.
Furthermore, you should:
Hold an Engineering degree with post-graduate degrees preferred in engineering or professional disciplines along with registration as a Professional Engineer or ability to obtain a license within six months of employment Have a minimum of 10 years of project management experience for large, complex projects and 5 years of line management or project portfolio management experience, and at least 15 years of experience working within the transportation field in civil infrastructure Possess strong project management skills and the ability to see projects through from concept to completion within a professional services environment Be able to develop strong relationships with owners in the New York City area and have strong business acumen coupled with solid technical skills in managing transportation projects Be self-motivated, flexible, and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with an innovative and creative mind-set Be able and willing to travel
