Optimus Health Care is a Federally Qualified Health Care Center
with sites operating in Bridgeport, Stamford and Stratford, CT. We
are the largest provider of primary health care services in
Fairfield County, proudly serving all patients regardless of their
income, race, or insurance status. We are presently recruiting for
a part-time OB/GYN Physician to join our Park City Primary Clinic
located in Bridgeport, CT.
Under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer and /or Clinical
Leader, the Obstetrician / Gynecologist provides comprehensive
primary health care including health promotion and disease
prevention activities for Optimus female patients ages 16 and
older. Delivers care appropriate for aprimary care community health
center with multicultural, multilingual patient population.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provides direct health care to patients, ages 16 and up,
presenting for care at Optimus with or without appointments. In
special circumstances, treating patients who are younger than 16
years of age.
2. Serves as adesignated obstetrician in a formal relationship with
Certified Nurse Midwives (CNMs) and APRNs, as defined in CT State
3. Provides or directly oversees colposcopy services and other
gynecological procedures appropriate in the outpatient setting.
4. Provides or directly oversees prenatal services for high-risk
5. Provides required gynecological and obstetrical surgical
procedures for patient both inpatient and ambulatory; or arranges
for other surgeons to provide these services, and oversees liaison
6. See patients, during assigned sessions both scheduled and
unscheduled, (whichincludes one evening per week). Though sessions
have defined hours, it may be necessary to work later if patient
flow is especially heavy.
7. Work under the direction of the Chief Medical Officerwho has
responsibility for assuring adequate staff coverage and quality
care in the department.
8. Participate in Medical Staff Meetings and on Optimus committees
such as Performance Improvement, Infection Control, etc.
9. Participate in quality assurance procedures such as audits/peer
ADDITIONAL GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
Professional positive attitude, vision, understanding of customer
service principals, trustworthiness, and excellent interpersonal
skills to successfully accomplish tasks necessary to meet high
standards of ethical and social responsibility required by this
EDUCATION: Medical Degree from an accredited Medical School.
Documented completion of a Residency from an accredited institution
specializing in Obstetrics & Gynecology. Board Certified or Board
Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology. Current Connecticut licensure
and admitting privileges at Bridgeport / St. Vincent Hospital or
EXPERIENCE: Have a thorough knowledge of the principles and
practices of medicine and allied services commensurate with his/her
training as an Obstetrician/Gynecologist. Demonstrate special
interest in the area of community medicine and ability to relate to
culturally diverse patients and community.
Familiarity with tele-medicine and prior experience a plus
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to speak enough Spanish to examine
Spanish-speaking patients and converse on basic level strongly
LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION: Valid License to practice as an
Obstetrician/Gynecologist in the State of Connecticut
