St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport has more than 3,200
associates. It includes a 473-bed community teaching hospital, a
76-bed inpatient psychiatric facility in Westport, a large
multispecialty provider group, and special needs services for
adults and children. St. Vincent’s is the first hospital in
Fairfield County to be integrated into the Hartford HealthCare
network, and is the system’s second-largest hospital.
The Building Automation Technician III is responsible for
driving the execution for maintenance, installation, repair,
testing, and inspection of Building Automation Systems and
equipment, and is the subject matter expert on Building Automation
and controls and will ensure the team and facility meets national,
state, and local regulatory requirement. This position will perform
master level building automation (Energy Controls) trades work with
considerable independence and latitude in judgment concerning
methods, materials, and priority of assigned work orders. Position
is responsible for ensuring efficient operation of energy controls
function according to their design.
• Maintains existing facility systems and installs new facility
systems in accordance with standard trade practices, applicable
codes and safety regulations.
• Performs preventive maintenance and repairs to electrical,
mechanical and pneumatic systems and equipment in support of the
goals and operations of the Medical Center.
• Utilizes the highest level of troubleshooting skills and

Reports to : Manager, Engineering
Associates degree in Electronics or other related field with 3-5
years building automation service experience, OR Trane Summit
101 and/or Siemens BAU-3015 training
Two to five years trade or work-related experience with facility
maintenance of commercial equipment repair experience.
Working knowledge of commercial HVAC systems and equipment. CT
S-1 or S-2 license a plus
Knowledge of State of Connecticut Trade Codes and Safety
Comprehensive troubleshooting and diagnostic skills in either
electrical, plumbing, carpentry or mechanical areas.
