Job Description:
Albany Medical Center, a leader in healthcare innovation,
education, and patient care, is seeking a Pediatric Intensive Care
Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse (RN) on a per diem basis. This
position requires dedicated nursing professionals with a passion
for pediatric care, who will uphold our commitment to delivering
the highest quality of care to our youngest and most vulnerable
patients. This role entails direct patient care, assessment,
planning and implementation of nursing interventions. Provide
direct nursing care in a diverse and dynamic environment. Assess,
plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans. Monitor, record,
and communicate patient condition as appropriate. Collaborate with
healthcare team to support patient care. Administer medications and
document therapeutic effects. Prepare equipment and aid physician
during examination and treatment of patients. Offer support and
education to patients’ families. Strong clinical skills in a
pediatric intensive care setting. Ability to make quick and
accurate assessments of patient conditions. Proficient in using
medical software and electronic health records. Excellent
interpersonal and communication skills. High level of compassion
and empathy. Valid RN license in the state of practice. Current
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
certification.
