valid state RN License Certifications: - Current BLS (AHA)
certificate upon hire and maintain current - Current ACLS (AHA)
certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current - Current
PALS (AHA) certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current
Must-Have: - Minimum of one year previous perioperative experience
or on-the-job training - Certified Nurse OR (CNOR) Certification
preferred - Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred -
Pre/Post Operative experience Description: RN OR with cardiac
experience needed for 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday from
07:00 AM to 03:00 PM. Call is required; no exceptions. Every
employee is required to take call. The minimum call requirement is
once per week for weekdays from 11 PM to 7 AM, with a maximum of
two calls per week. For weekends, call will occur once every fifth
weekend, covering Saturday and Sunday for 24 hours each day. Call
obligations may change based on unforeseen circumstances. Every RN
is expected to come in within 30 minutes if called in. Call is
taken from home using a personal cell phone, and the RN is not
required to be on-site. The Staff RN is directly accountable to the
OR Charge Nurse and the Director of Surgical Services, and
indirectly to the House Supervisor. The Registered Nurse is
responsible for the delivery of direct and indirect patient care in
the perioperative setting through the nursing process of
assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for patients
of all ages. The Registered Nurse coordinates the care of the
patient with the surgeon and anesthesiologist. The RN directs and
guides the OR Technician and other personnel while maintaining
standards of professional nursing. The RN works with other
departments to provide a continuum of care and collaborates with
co-workers to ensure continuous, quality patient care, efficient
patient flow, and organizational maintenance of the unit. The RN is
responsible for adherence to regulations, standards, and hospital
or unit policies and procedures. Participation in performance
improvement activities, unit meetings, and in-services is expected.
The RN acts as a resource for other personnel as appropriate. 5
