Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manager to
oversee cultural exchange initiatives between Hong Kong and the
United States. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in
fostering cultural collaborations and supporting artistic and
cultural programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate exchanges and cooperation between Hong Kong art
groups/artists and the United States counterparts, particularly in
youth cultural and artistic projects.
- Develop and maintain close liaison with official and non-official
cultural institutions, venues, and media in the United States.
Proactively scout and identify potential opportunities in the US
for showcasing Hong Kong art and performance groups.
- Assist with planning and execution of arts/cultural events,
including preparing background briefs, invitations, speeches, press
releases, and social media posts.
- Support Hong Kong art groups in performances and cultural
exchange projects, liaise with group managers, and draft
promotional materials.
- Communicate, liaise and provide logistical support for visiting
delegations and tours. Manage any necessary pre-tour planning and
post-tour follow up.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
- Willing to work irregular hours and travel.
- Must be eligible to take up employment in the United States.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in arts management,
public relations/marketing, languages or related fields.
- Excellent written English and Chinese proficiency; fluent
Cantonese or Putonghua is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in cultural and arts
administration/event management/public relations/marketing/media,
preferably with art or cultural groups/non-governmental
organizations/education institutions.
- Good understanding of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region
Government's (HKSARG's) operations and cultural agencies is a
plus.
- Proficient in MS Office, social media, and media/design
software.
- Self-driven, organized, creative, and able to work under pressure
with strong interpersonal skills.
Terms of Appointment
12-month non-civil service contract.
Salary:
USD 7,800 to USD 9,400 gross per month, depending on the relevant
qualification and experience of the candidate, during the 12-month
contract period.
Benefits
Paid leave and transportation allowance etc. This is not a remote
role. Relocation costs are not covered.
